Proxy Access - Send appointment

Hello

With GW 2014 R2, I can't send new appointments by "right click - new appointment" anymore when I'm in a user's calender via proxy access. If the user gives me write access to his calender, it's working. In GW 2014, it was working although I don't have write access, I could send him a new appointment anyway.

Is this a bug or a wrong setting? Or is this behavior correct?

Thanks and regards,
Thomas

Re: Proxy Access - Send appointment

Hi Thomas,

As far as I am aware this is working as designed. You require write access to the calendar in order to create appointments on behalf of another person.

Re: Proxy Access - Send appointment

Hi,

If it is really "working as designed", then it is not implemented consistently.

For example: I have a multi user calendar with people who I have write access and people who I don't have write access to their calender. I mark all of them and right click on a user's calender where I have write access and create a new appointment. The appointment will send to all users, even to those I don't have write access.

Re: Proxy Access - Send appointment

Hi Thomas,

Perhaps I didn't explain myself clearly 😞 To send an appointment on behalf of somebody else via proxy access you need write access to their calendar. To send an appointment to others you don't need write access to the recipients calendars.

Does that make sense?

Re: Proxy Access - Send appointment

Hi

I think I didn't explain myself clearly 😉 Actually, it's about MultiUserCalender and not about proxy access. And I don't want send an appointment on behalf of someone else. I just want to send an appointment via right-click - new - appointment, but on users who I don't have write-access, this option is missing and at earlier GW-Versions this way was always working.

Re: Proxy Access - Send appointment

I see it working on GW2012 HP3 as you said, the option you specified above lets you send an Appointment (meeting invite) from yourself to the user in question that they can then accept or decline. It's a shortcut do doing file->new->appointment from the menu bar and entering the recipients name manually. If you really can't do it and your clients are fully patched then I'd suggest it's SR time I'm afraid.
