Re: Public Gateways

No public announcements have been made AFAIK. I assume you mean
gateways to
other IM systems?

Re: Public Gateways

Hi Michael,

Yep, thats what I mean:) In our, me and my customer, opinion rolling
out
Messager with my current customers is only usefull when the gateways
are
available.

Regards,

Sebastiaan

Re: Public Gateways

Maybe. My guess (not related to any real info) is it gonna get less
likely
and tougher as time goes along (witness MSN shutting out everyone - I
fully
expect others to follow in the next 6 months, if ploy is successful)

Betr.: Re: Public Gateways

Have to agree with you on that:/ But when we just release a
Messager-Messager (sound like: just use mail) gateway for
communication between Novell Messager systems, we could make a
difference there:)) Besides that we could allow only company's that we
'trust' to connect to our gateway (like allowing people to use a web
service). Just thinking loud here, but what you say wouldn't that mean
Novell might as well drop Messager right away?!

Betr.: Re: Public Gateways

Allowing multiple Messenger systems to inter-communicate (from multiple domains) is something Novell definitely plans to deliver. Allowing multiple servers within one domain is also planned.

Betr.: Re: Public Gateways

Thx Brian,

But we probably have to wait for GroupWise 7 to see some of that,
don't we (like Q4 next year)?
