Removal

Ok, now that I've moved my users to a new NMS server running v3, I'd
like to remove it from the old server. What's the best way to
uninstall NMS from a SLES box?

Re: Removal

Hi Stevo,

I can't find a definitive document on this procedure, so I'm going to tell you what I would do:

Shutdown the Messenger services on the server.
Remove the RPM's
Delete corresponding objects in eDirectory.

As I said, that's just what I would do!

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,
Laura Buckley

Remove the NMS server in eDirectory, stop loading it, and if you really
want to, uninstall the rpms.

So my response to laurabuckley's comment is...

That's the thing, I want to make sure I uninstall the rpms correctly.
Already have the agents shut down. Was going to delete them from edir
after a week or so.

Re: Removal

Hi Stevo

rpm -e packagename

The MAN pages will give you all the information on using the rpm command.
