Server upgrade

When I installed data-sync mobility pack on a box, I didn't realize it
should have been sles11sp2, and it's running on a sles11sp1 (oes11) box.

It's been running fine, but I'm looking at updating that server to
sles11sp2 and oes11sp1.

Anyone know of any gotchas or issues that could bite me on this, or has
it been a smooth upgrade for any of you that have done it?

You'll probably need to confirm this somewhere...but I don't think you
want it on OES. I think it should be on plain SLES.

So my response to KeN's comment is...

I have it running on OES now & it works fine. I would think you'd need
OES on it to be able to access the ldap stuff........... ???

See http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7012004

The 'LDAP stuff' just needs to be accessible on the network somewhere,
specifically not on the DS server/instance.

So my response to unsigned's comment is...

Ok, so it looks like I should remove OES from that box. Is that a big
deal removing OES with datasync on there? Is it gonna cause me grief?
Anything else to know about? etc etc

I haven't tried it with OES11, but back in the OES2 days uninstalling
OES from SLES was... painful. Your best bet is likely to start from
scratch.

So my response to Joseph's comment is...

Could a person just leave OES on there, but remove it from edir so said
server's not part of any edir tree?

You could, but still technically the server is an OES server and not
plain SLES so there could be potential support issues if you have to
open a Data Sync SR.

So my response to Joseph's comment is...

Ok, so I built a different server, sles11sp2 only, then mobility.
Seems to be working now. Wondering if mobility will ever be able to
connect to AD ldap.

That's one of the things on the roadmap, in particular to go along with
Windermere which potentially could be used in a pure AD environment.
