Slow moving from folder to folder

GW2012 - moving from folder to folder take 15-20 seconds

there are about 1500 folders - most with less than 10-20 items

How can I backup this ONE mail box and import it on another Test system ?

We see a lot of this too. There is a large spike in POA agent CPU usage for the duration of this delay. The length of the delay increases proportionally to the number of proxies logged into the mailbox too. It doesn't seem to affect people with moderate numbers of folders.

Someone suggested checking if rule processing is causing it. In our case disabling folder-based rules made no difference but you might want to check this in your system.

A) Make sure the postoffice is healthy with regular GWChecks happening
and that you are checking the resulting logs. Sometimes a problem hanging
around impacts performance. http://www.konecnyad.ca/andyk/gwmnt5x.htm
B) Is this on-line or caching mode? Worth comparing.
C) What resources appear to be impacted where when this is being done?
Check CPU and RAM use on both the client and the server with a bunch of
this moving is happening.

loosely remembered pieces of others having done this: archive everything,
create a matching user in the test system, use the FID editor to connect
the archive to that test user, copy from archive.

Or the sneaky virtualized option if you have the bits in place, make an
isolated shadow copy of the whole server with a virtualized client in the
same isolation zone.
