Spell Checker

So I have a client who hates GW because the spell checker (according to him) is awful.
He wants one that understands names and local spelling of things and ideally wants the ability to import a lot of words he uses all the time in bulk.
I suggested this functionality would never come and he has asked me to investigate integration of a third party tool like Grammarly. I think he would even consider something that sat resident in memory and went over the top of all his apps including groupwise.

Does anyone else do this or know of any app that could relieve his "misery"?

Re: Spell Checker

Hi,

You can edit the spell check dictionary. The files are found here: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Novell\GroupWise\

I don't know of an app that will work with GroupWise 😞

What happens if I add 400K of words from the British Dictionary to one of these GWD files? What happens if the word in the dictionary is also part of the core default dictionary?

Re: Spell Checker

Hi,

Have you changed the spell checker language to British English, or is it set to US?

Hi.
Yes our clients use the British Dictionary. It's not particularly large though, plenty of common words that aren't present.

Re: Spell Checker

Hi,

Then test adding all the words on one workstation and see what it does.

it might come if we prod in the useful directions, which is the Ideas
forum. There is already an Idea there that is close to this issue that
voting for will encourage this directed functionality.
