Sync works onyl in one direction ?!

Hello,

we have a big problem at the momten.
The sync works only in one direction.

If I write an email on my mobile device, the mail goes through the groupwise system immidiately.

But the incoming mails in groupwise, are not synced to our mobile devices.

If I restart the GMS with "rcgms restart", I'll get every new mail synced to my mobile device. After syncing all new mails, the sync in this direction is dead again.

The only thing a can do at the moment is, restarting rcgms every 5-10 minutes. Otherwise all mails in this direction are getting stucked.

Any Ideas what I can do ?

This is usually a firewall (or other network comms) problem not allowing
the post office to "kick" GMS on new events. WHat you see is GMS
actually once pulling all the recent data of all users when it starts,
but from then it just sits and wait, and the PO is supposed to push
events to GMS.

Hallo Herr Rosen 🙂

Firewall liegt leider nicht in unserer Hand.... Eben kamen Mails an ohne ein rcgms restart... Jedoch ca. mit 1,5 stunden Verspätung erst auf dem Handy gelandet.
Werde das noch dieses Wochenende beobachten, ansonsten muss ich vorerst ein cronjob laufen lassen bis wir das Problem gelöst haben, welches jede viertel-stunde ein rcgms restart haut.

Auch das ist "normal". Der GMS geht nach einiger Zeit auch ohne Neustart
aktiv die Mailboxen absuchen. Das ist aber nicht Sinn der Sache.

I've encountered this before, it was a networking issue with both GMS
and the POA straddling both the DMZ and the internal net. What we
needed to do is have GroupWise Sync Agent set to private internal
interface vs the DMZ to avoid some of the server level firewall issues.
How they had it working initially was beyond me.
Take a close look at the networking side, with what IPs are used by
both GMS and the POAs and makes sure they make sense being on the same
network view.

Hello,

we solved the problems. It was not the Firewall and not neworks issues between DMZ and PO.
We restored the GMS Server frome Backup, and everything was fine again.
The only problem we have is, we have had to power on an old eDir machine, because
a lot of users were added via eDir Group, and to remove them frome the group to add
them from GW as source, we need the eDir Group 🙂 I hope we will have removed all users frome
the eDir Group in the next weeks, so we can shutdown the eDir Server again.

After restoring the GMS frome Backup we have had to reinitialize users, because there was a difference
between GW and mobile device.

Just a question, the newly reinitialized users only sync mail from one week, but GMS is configured
for 30 days. And ideas how we can sync the 30 days ?

Have you verified on the client (mail app) that it's configured to sync more than 10 days back?

Try setting GMS to 31 days for a bit to see if that kicks things free
run dsapp's checks to see that things are ok from that end.
