Unable to communicate with GroupWise WebAccess Agent

I just upgraded our GW system from 6.5 to 8. I did the main system two weeks ago and just tried to up grade the Web Access. I now get the comm to the agent error and the prev webaccess was working after the main upgrade.

I have the domain, po and gateway on a Novell server and the the agent and publisher on a Win 2003 Server.

When I launch the agent on the server I do not get any errors.

When I try go the the webpage for webaccess I can get to the login screen but when I type in the user name and pw I get the unable to comm error.

Thanx,
Craig

First I would go to NOVELL: Support and search for "Unable to communicate with GroupWise WebAccess Agent", there are many TIDs about what could cause this error and also solutions to that problem. Please post back if none of them solves your issue. Also can you take a look in the webaccess log for more information?

I've tried what the knowledge base said no help. To me it seems to be something on the Win 2003 server since that is where I have the webaccess agent and application. The Novell server has the gateway, DOM and PO.

Here is the log for the config

What messages do you get in the webaccess application log (c:\Novell\GroupWise\WebAccess\logs, I believe that is the location on windows).. And of course you have the correct ports open between your w2003 webaccess server and the groupwise server?

Re: Unable to communicate with GroupWise WebAccess Agent

For me, when I was getting that error with a similar setup it was an issue with the commgr and comint files. Take a look at 10051447: Error:"Unable to communicate with GroupWise WebAccess Agent" on login but for step 4, try not pressing Apply after changing the encryption key then once you change the key back to what it was press ok and the files should get recreated correctly. I found that if you changed the key then applied the change then changed the key back to the default and pressed ok the files didn't seem to be written properly.

Good luck!
