Upgrade to 18.1.0: DVA

Hi,

after a upgrade to GW18.1 (from 14.2.2) one of my DVA seems to be weak.

The PO runs out of space and I found more then 300.000 new files in
oftemp/in ...

I think that this are files were waiting to index. It is save to delete
them until the DVA is healthy?

Do you see (in /var/log/messages) segfaults in kvfilter.so followed by GPFs in kvutil.so?

No, there are no such messages.

Which OS? And are POA and DVA running on the same box?

OES2018-Cluster
Yes, the DVA and the POAs are on the same node.

But after a clean up this dir it seems that the issue is gone ~:-}

We wait for the next trouble ... to drill deeper.

Comming back to this issue ...

Yes, it seems that this TID match our symptoms. But I can't reindex
because the settings in POA-Console are readonly. (GW18.1)

Any hints?

Hi Bernd,

You need to login to the POA web console as a user with admin rights to the post office... or just use the GroupWise super admin user.

Oops ... :-}

OK, I have reconfigured the DVA. At the POA web-console I found:

Excluded File Type (/dcafilter) pdf,img,paf,igs

But at the DVA startup file I have:

--dvafilter "svg,dwg,iso"

no /dcafilter

AFAIK DCA is replaced by DVA and the switch /dcafilter was for DCA at
windows only. Is this cosmetic?

Having this problem here on 3 POAs after upgrade to 18.1. Reindexing (also deleting all user-indexing) does NOT solve the problem. Still filling the filesystem with .tmp files.
Maybe a hint that indexing an attachment with spaces is a problem.
Indexing one attachment containing 2 spaces gives 3 error 500.
Indexing one attachment containing 3 spaces gives 4 error 500.

Could anybody confirm this?

Re: Upgrade to 18.1.0: DVA

Hi Andreas,

I've indexed on attachments with more than 8 spaces without a problem.

Re: Upgrade to 18.1.0: DVA

Hi Laura,

good to hear. Then my notice was wrong.

Nevertheless. Indexing still throwing error 500 and filling my filesystems on 3 servers.
