Use GroupWise as client for gmail?

Is it possible to use the GroupWise client to access a gmail account directly.

The user isn't configures on my system any more, so he can't simple add his gmail as an extra account.

So the question is, can we state "mail.google.com" as server address and log directly in to gmail?
I did try, but without success...

Thanks!

Hi

Unfortunately you can't log directly into gmail from the GroupWise client. You will need launch the GroupWise client and then create the gmail account.

Hi,

You could try the "standalone" version of the GroupWise client: http://www.mygwmail.net/

Alternatively start GroupWise up in Remote Mode and then add a pop3/imap account.

The GroupWise guru's will probably have a few good suggestions too.

Yes, you can. even with the standard client. You just have to define a
remote mailbox on first launch (when you obviously can't connect to a
"real" groupwise system). Once that's done the client launches, and you
can define a new POP or IMAP account. It's a bit tricky, but possible.

Yes. This works for any POP or IMAP account(s)

the trick is to add some parameters to the startup icon to point to
where it will store the mail. So just create an empty folder such as
c:\gwdata\ have the target look like
"C:\Program Files\Novell\GroupWise\grpwise.exe" /pr-c:\gwdata\
/ps-c:\gwdata

The first time you start it up, you can configure the GMail account
with the standard IMAP (or POP) settings for that account, and away you
go.
