There is no time limit for the GroupWise evaluation. Legally, though,
you can't use the evaluation version in a production environment.

That's the plan, but we have no definitive dates yet.

I was holding off a client from a conversion from Exchange to GW8 as I kept reading that GW2012 was coming sometime soon - if it is coming in the next month then I'll wait, but if it's going to be a few more months, I'll have to proceed with the GW8 conversion, then upgrade them. Any word from Novell on a release date would be nice (although I know they can't always commit until they feel ready to release the software).

All I can say is it's "soon". It is expected by the end of the year. However,
as Christmas break is coming up, if it's not out by the end of next week, I
wouldn't expect it until shortly after January 1. That's just my best guess of
course, as Novell doesn't generally give "exact dates" on these things. And of
course, if something is found that really needs to be addressed before shipping,
that can delay as well.

Just an FYI - of course if you are on GroupWise Maintenance, you should also see
the software in your NCC portal. The Evaluation version and the portal version
are currently the same.
