Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Fails

This is a long shot. Have two machines where update/upgrade fails with a report that "novell network client" needs to be uninstalled. Problem is these machines have NEVER had any version of novell network client ever installed. BUT, both machines HAVE run the GWProfileSetup utility for creating a GMS conduit for Microsoft Outlook. ... Could this utility have installed files with names that the upgrade routine sees as "novell network client"? If so, is there a way to identify them and uninstall them?

Re: Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Fails

I'm kind of doubting the GWProfileSetup put any files down that would be caught as the "novell network client", I could confirm this though.
Do these workstations happen to have ConsoleOne on them? Kind of random, but it's the only thing that rings a bell, without actually ever installing the Novell Client.

No ConsoleOne on the impacted machines. Both running 64 bit version of Windows 10. ... Frustrating error message to be told you need to uninstall something that has never been installed.

Yes, very frustrating
If you have ZCM with these systems in inventory, take a good look at
what else is installed that has a Novell or Micro Focus hook.
Alternately, perhaps the new free tool from NirSoft may help see what
else may have been installed.

Do other systems have the GWProfileSetup utility on them?

I would be inclined to try to push back at Microsoft for this update
having this paranoid problem.

Found a thread in the OES client forum on this that has some useful
observations, including one user who found broken connections to MAD that
needed re-assimilation into the Domain.
