Windows 8 Mobile

I am not having luck with the new Windows 8 phones connecting to Mobility. The device keeps telling me that there are security policies on the server. I am using a DigiCert Named cert on the server, and all other devices work fine. The Windows 8 Phone even has all the root certs from Digi on it. Anyone else had success with this device?

I am running the latest DS software.

What's the exact error message? Does your phone have all of the
DigiCert root certs or just some of them (if there are multiples)?
Anything show up in a LAN trace that could confirm the phone is refusing
the server (99.99% liklihood).

Good luck.

The error is " there are security settings on server XXXXX.XXX contact your systemn admin.

Has anyone successfully attached these devices? if so were there any Quirks? I know that windows 7 phone I had to input the domain, but that was it.

The phone does have all the root certs.

I am having trouble with the surface. Novell has created a defect for this
against mobility. We got it syncing but the attachments don't open. If
you don't have a valid cert on the server get one. MS devices don't like
self signex.

I just opened a SR for the same issue. Also having the issue Tim
reported with attachments on the Surface tablets.

Same thing here and we have Thwate Certs and even imported the cert to no avail. On build 996.

gwsync2.health.unm.edu requires that certain security policies be enforced. Try syncing again to apply the policies. If you keep seeing this message, contact a support person or your service provider. Error code: 85010013

Windows Phone 8 is not currently supported by Data Sync. That support
will be in the 1.2.5 release scheduled for early 2013.

Yup, this is an issue that we are aware of and is being worked on.
This issue doesn't just affect Windows Phone 8, but also the desktop
version of Windows 8. The fix for this will be part of the full
Windows 8 support coming in the 1.2.5 release.

Doesn't sound good - WP8 is coming fast now.
Could you try to kick this support feature for faster track, before v1.2.5?

Also, just FYI, our build 579 works out of the box with Lumia920 WP8 -
no problems reported.

I second that! No problems with the metro mail app in Windows 8 pro, but surface and mobile 8 devices are not working and after christmas its going to be a mess if we can't support them.

Do attachments work ok for you? That was a problem I experienced with
the mail app in Windows 8 Pro against Data Sync 1.2.4 (build 966). My
understanding is that this is the same issue that Surface running
Windows 8 RT is experiencing.
