dc file date differences

Jump to solution

After upgrading from Groupwise 2014 R2 to 18.3

I was checking a few things and noticed the .dc files are not all up to date.  They list as follows:

POST OFFICE - one old file .dc file

svgw:/media/nss/GW/gwsystem/po # ll *.dc
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 21892 Nov 15 04:59 gwpo.dc
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 124529 Nov 15 04:59 ngwguard.dc
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10942 Dec 21 2008 wphost.dc  <----- ?

DOMAIN - looks good
svgw:/media/nss/GW/gwsystem/dom # ll *.dc
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 22364 Nov 15 04:59 gwdom.dc
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 21892 Nov 15 04:59 gwpo.dc
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 11561 Nov 15 04:59 wpdomain.dc
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 10942 Nov 15 04:59 wphost.dc

SOURCE
svgw:/opt/novell/groupwise/admin/data # ll *.dc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 22364 Nov 15 04:59 gwdom.dc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 21892 Nov 15 04:59 gwpo.dc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 124529 Nov 15 04:59 ngwguard.dc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11561 Nov 15 04:59 wpdomain.dc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10942 Nov 15 04:59 wphost.dc

Is it recommended to just copy /opt/novell/groupwise/admin/data/wphost.dc to the post office directory and restart the post office?

Cheers

Gordon

If you compare the instances with let's say "diff" you'll likely see that they are binary identical. AFAIK, it shouldn't (shall mean: at least doesn't have to) reside in the PO directory anyway.

If you like it: like it.

That sounds good to me. I was going just from the dates and thought there was some real old file from GW 7/8? that would cause issues at some point. I think I'll ignore it for now.

IIRC this dc file is only used when rebuilding a GW4 (four...) PO database.
