deletion of directory files

I was wondering the effect of the directroy files more specifically the /domain/wpgate/gwia/wpcsin/4 if this was deleted?

Although this link shows GW2012 https://www.novell.com/documentation/groupwise2012/gw2012_guide_tsh3/data/bx4w54s.html,

there is no big change for newer versions.

So messages waiting in directory 4 are messages with normal priority. In this case it is an inbound message which should be delivered to a MTA if a connection is possible.
