failed upgrade from GW8 to GW2012 - can I recover from this?

I did a GW upgrade on NOWS SBE 2.5

I Updated the system and started gwmta and 1/2 h later gwpo

NB: I didn't install AGENTS just added webacces & GWIA
(I assumed the update would see the existing config as I put in location of
domain as requested)

didn't see a message about DB update an hour after starting po
so shutdown and started all GW services

Webaccess error d058 saying GW version is not correct

Noticed in ConsoleOne the GW db is still v8

Just to make sure - I stopped GW and installed agents at this point

is there anything I can do to let GW know DB version needs updating at this
point !!!

You need to upgrade the domain first. Try manually copying the *.dc
files for the domain, relaunch the MTA, and see if it upgrades.
Assuming it does repeat the procedure for the post office.

Re: failed upgrade from GW8 to GW2012 - can I recover from this?

thanks - I put the drive aside and making another copy of the live system to
upgrade - so it will be an hour or so before I can try you suggestion.

I must be thick ... well not done this before except for play

Quick question: is it necessary to install to Agents software after running
the UPGRADE SYSTEM ??
I had assumed this was for 2nd PO etc

so went ahead and Started the
./gwmta --show @gwdom.mta & and 1/2 hour later
../gwpoa --show @gwpo.poa & - both loaded GW 2012

How long should I run MTA before launching POA ?
I didn't see any messages about DB updating

NB: Whole system is 24Gb if its related to amount of data?
