iOS 9 and recurring appointments

We have noted that when an recurring appointment/meeting is sent that iOS devices (I have witnessed it on iOS 9.0.2 and heard that is was doing it with iOS 8), the iOS native calendar shows all the occurrences separately. If the appointment is accepted (all instances) in GroupWise, only the first occurrence is removed from the calendar "inbox" though all instances show up on the calendar as accepted but in the calendar "inbox" still show with "OK" being the only option. When a meeting will recur 63 times, it cam be a burden to have to clear all of them on the iOS device (true for both iPad and iPhone).

We are using GroupWise 14.0.2 with the latest version of GMS.

Is anyone else seeing this? Is it just a function of iOS and nothing we can do anything about?

Let me see if I can dupe that here.

Anders,

It is a known issue and currently it is the way that ActiveSync deals
with recurring appointments and there isn't anything we can do about
it, unfortunately. I thought there was a tid out there but I can't
find it. If I can't find it again tomorrow, I will get one written.

Re: iOS 9 and recurring appointments

This is also an issue on iOS 8.4.1, I've never noticed it before.

The only way I could get rid of the 'unread' appointments on the iPhone, that had already been accepted in the GW client, was to change them to tentative. Unfortunately this has made the recurring appointments vanish completely from the iPhone calendar. The change to tentative did feed back into GW via GWMS, but even changing them back to busy in the GW client doesn't put them back on the mobile device, so I only have the first appointment on the phone out of 16! That'll be fun trying to explain why I'm missing meetings 😞

Re: iOS 9 and recurring appointments

Does anyone know if the calendar issue has been fixed in GW 2014 R2 / GW Mobility Service 2014.2.0?
