local address send problem

Hi.

Some users are sending messages to local groupwise addresses in a format:
User Name <uname@domain.com>
These messages are never delivered. Properties of such messages show Transfer Delayed, Post Office is shown like domain.com>
GWIA log shows:
E75F DMN: MSG 7063553 Send Failure: 451 Temporary local problem - please try later

We have a lot of cases like this due to GroupWise Data Synchronizer server, because all messages coming from mobile users showing From address in this format (User Name <uname@domain.com>). And replies to such messages are never delivered.

Please help.

Best regards,
Michael

You have a lot of different very basic issues here it seems, and it
might be difficult to sort out.

First of all, messages from Data Syncronizer shouldn't be using a
different address then any other message. If they do, there's a
fundamental misconfiguration somewhere.

Second, any legal email address (and it's very oviously that "uname" is
configured in your groupwsie system as being "legal", also needs to
work. If it doesn't, it's asking for problems. In your case, it looks
like some third party soft or hardware drops it. The error message you
get "451 temporary local problem", does *not* come from groupwise, but
something else groupwise is sending the mail to, like some anti-spam
system or relay host.

Which is the next problem. That message should never leave groupwise to
start, aka never see GWIA at all. Which tells us there is the next truly
*massive* configuration problem here, in that "uname@domain.com" is
considered external by your grouwpsie system somehow. The only
explanation for that I have is that "domain.com" isn't configured
properly in your groupwise.

All in all, I really don't know where to start. Maybe you should try to
describe your setup in more detail. What is you configured internet
domain, what are the configured address formats (which are allowed,
which is default), what thrid party systems are integrated into your
email flow, and so on...
