login without password prompt (MS AD)


Dear,



is it right, that client (Active directory) login without prompting passwords only function when the postoffice is running on windows and not function if it run on linux?

No. There are basically two options that allow to access groupwise
without having to enter a password. One is via eDiectory login, and the
other via the local windows user account, which has nothing to do with
the backend whatsoever. Think of it like your browser remembering your
password in your local windows profile.

so I had it also understood, but we dont get the login without password as AD User. GW 2014 R2 documentation describes the following:




GroupWise 2014 R2 supports Active Directory’s single sign-on capabilities allowing users to bypass the GroupWise login process by virtue of logging in once with Active Directory. Both the POA Server and the user workstation must be joined to the same Active Directory domain in order for single sign-on to work.


IMPORTANT:Active Directory single sign-on is only available for Windows POA servers.



our POA run under Linux and we can not configure AD users without prompting her passwords.



LDAP works for both - eDir + AD under system and we can import users from both directories.
