ok here the final solution:

sles 12 sp2:
/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sysv-install enable grpwise-tomcat8

sles 12 sp3:
cd /etc/init.d/rc3.d
ln -s ../grpwise-tomcat8 K50grpwise-tomcat8
ln -s ../grpwise-tomcat8 S50grpwise-tomcat8

cd /etc/init.d/rc5.d
ln -s ../grpwise-tomcat8 K50grpwise-tomcat8
ln -s ../grpwise-tomcat8 S50grpwise-tomcat8

Hopefully this will get into the install routine for Webaccess 18 soon since GroupWise Messenger 18 requires SLES 12...
