"Ideas Forum" link on Webaccess

There's a link to "Ideas Portal" on the main Nav Bar in Webaccess for GW18
How do I remove this? I don't think it's appropriate to have a front-and-center link to your enhancement request portal on end users email.

adrockk,

It appears that in the past few days you have not received a response to your
posting. That concerns us, and has triggered this automated reply.

These forums are peer-to-peer, best effort, volunteer run and that if your issue
is urgent or not getting a response, you might try one of the following options:

- Visit https://www.microfocus.com/support-and-services and search the knowledgebase and/or check
all the other self support options and support programs available.
- Open a service request: https://www.microfocus.com/support
- You could also try posting your message again. Make sure it is posted in the
correct newsgroup. (http://forums.microfocus.com)
- You might consider hiring a local partner to assist you.

Be sure to read the forum FAQ about what to expect in the way of responses:

Sometimes this automatic posting will alert someone that can respond.

If this is a reply to a duplicate posting or otherwise posted in error, please
ignore and accept our apologies and rest assured we will issue a stern reprimand
to our posting bot.

Good luck!

I guess none of us have dug into the guts of Webaccess yet to hide that
bit. If you can open an SR, then please hit support that way and if
not, how about creating an Idea to make link optional/changeable (i.e.
What happens when the Ideas portal links change for any reason.) If
you create such an Idea, please post the link here so that the rest of
us can easily find it to vote on it.

I actually checked with engineering yesterday and there is no way for the
GW admin to remove this. I would suggest you use that link, go to the
ideas portal, and put this in as an enhancement request.

Opening an SR will get you the same answer as this is currently Working As
Designed.

The new Idea for this is
https://ideas.microfocus.com/MFI/mf-gw/Idea/Detail/13861

In making sure there wasn't a similar Idea already there, I found that this
feature is the result of Idea #12288 that 11 people voted for. I can see
where in some shops it might make sense, but certainly not every place.
Sigh, can we say 'overshoot/overkill' on this new feature, so please add
your vote to turn it down a bit.

Thanks for that; I've added my vote, and I'm going to share with the K12 TTP as well.

Re: "Ideas Forum" link on Webaccess

I digged out this entry because a customer was asking how to hide "Ideas Exchange".

It is somehow simpl but you have to repeat it after each update/upgrade.

This menubar will be prepared here:
server:/opt/novell/grpwise-tomcat/webapps/gw/WEB-INF/classes/templates/webacc/css. File toolbar.inc is responsible to show or hide items.

There is a paragraph for Ideas Forum which I have surrounded by <!-- and -->. Restart grpwise-tomcat, that's it.

But do not forget to adjust the next time after your update ...

Enabling junkmail handling.

If you want to play around with this toolbar.inc you will find another section which is not visible in WebAccess. Search for <!-- and --> and you will see that junkmail handling is remarked. Remove these brackets, restart Apache and see what happens 😉
