Re: "Spell check failed: undefined". in GW8 Webaccess faile

Yeah, I get the same thing,

10:53:55, <PROVIDER>, -, ERROR, -, Missing configuration for Provider Speller. Add an entry for Provider.Speller.class

I am going to turn on diagnostic logging and see if it gives more info.

I was looking for an option to turn this off automatically. But couldn't find it.

Basically, if you have the spell check turned on and you attempt to reply, you get the Highlight Color, Resume Editing, and Finish and Send options below the subject, but Finish and Edit just circles back to spell check, and you can't send the mail.

I have noticed that there is no way to pick the default language in the spell check options, so I assume it can't find the dictionaries, or they are not there.

I did check the novell\groupwise\webacc directory and there is a dictionary directory there.

I will do another install, of just copying the files over, and see if that helps. Maybe something didn't copy the first time.

But, does anyone know what the default directory structure should be and does someone have a webacc.cfg file with the correct setting?

Thanks

Re: "Spell check failed: undefined". in GW8 Webaccess faile

Well, I fixed mine. I had to reinstalled the WebAcc, just over top of what I had and it now works.

Re: "Spell check failed: undefined". in GW8 Webaccess faile

Following Speller properties should exist in the webacc.cfg config file:

Provider.Speller.class=com.novell.webaccess.providers.speller.SpellerProvider
Provider.Speller.dictionaryConfig=$(WebApp.Config.path)/dictionaries.cfg
Provider.Speller.dictionaryPath=$(WebApp.Config.path)/dictionaries
Provider.Speller.maxSuggestions=10

Re: "Spell check failed: undefined". in GW8 Webaccess faile

So, my webacc.cfg has all of these lines in it. Any ideas why it may still be happening? I'm getting it on some messages, not all.

2011-12-07_1333 - mraymus's library

I haven't reinstalled Web Access yet, but I'm running the latest version, 8.02HP3

Re: "Spell check failed: undefined". in GW8 Webaccess faile

All, I've been able to duplicate this issue for one of my customer's emails and Novell was also able to dupe it on WebAcc8 and Ascot/2012. Here's the tid that was created for it:

Tid number is 7009881

http://www.novell.com/support/php/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=7009881&sliceId=1&docTypeID=DT_TID_1_1&dialogID=287660593&stateId=0%200%20287664409

As of now, the Bug has been made high priority mostly it will be fixed post ascot. But nothing for sure as of now.*Also.. if you open webaccess and do a long string with "___________________" we can replicate this issue. Just found that today...*Feel free to pass it on.

Re: "Spell check failed: undefined". in GW8 Webaccess faile

I have a customer that may be experiencing this issue as well. I'm trying to confirm from the customer exactly how they got the error. I've also asked for info from Novell about how they believe the issue can be duplicated, as well as the status of the bug or fix. Matt, do you have any additional info?

According to the bug report this occurs only if a word is over 100 chars
long.

A typical dupe was using underscores as a signature line

Re: "Spell check failed: undefined". in GW8 Webaccess faile

Resurrecting this thread, as we just started seeing this in our web access. It is not all replies, only some. I have not narrowed it down to long character strings, but I can certainly go back and see if I can get it to happen again and review the message being replied
to. I do know it is happening with HTML formatted messages from the original sender.

GW 2018 & Mobility Service-Version: 18.1.0 Build: 410 on SLES 12SP3, GW Client 18.02 (Build 131493) on Windows 7 64bit; server OES 11 on SLES 11 SP3; eDirectory 9.1 on SLES12SP3 and eDirectory 8.8sp8 on SLES11 SP3

So far you've just brought the thread back as a zombie, lets get some real
details to make it alive. Start by narrowing down if it is this known
issue of a long string without spaces, so either a whole pile of the same
character as a divider or possibly a long url such as a weblink or a file
name with full path.
What version are you running? Assuming GW 8.? Given the forum, but exactly
what would be useful.
I can't find the bug mentioned at the moment, but from all evidence this
was only slated to be fixed in GW 2012 after it was released, and I can
quickly tell it is still present in 2012sp2. I don't have access to a
2014 at the moment, but will have it tested soon.

I suspect other seperators such as dashes and period may factor in. At the
very least, 200+ dashes don't triggle the problem that 128+ underscores or
a's do. 141 'a's with a '100' in the middle didn't trigger this
limitation.
It is entirely possible that the threshold for WebAccess spell check has
simply been raised.

And GW 2014 sp1 handles well over 300 characters (underscores or a's) with
out any errors from spell check (other than to tell me it doesn't like the
spelling 😉
So the clear message is that if this issue is a problem for you, upgrade
to the latest code.
