unable to open Attachments file size 0

GW 2014 sp1, some users can not open attachments sent internally. Files show up as 0 bytes. If the attachment is sent from an outside address it goes thru without any problem, does not matter what type file it is, .xls .pdf .dwg. I had one of the senders open .xls file, do a save as and send the new file and that got through. Another sender tried to send an .xls file to same sender and that did not get thru. Support had me to a structural rebuild on the user, did not seem to help.

thanks

I smell a virus scanner or some such gone mad.

It is not a virus scanner causing the problem. Problem still not fixed. I have done a structural rebuild on each of the users having problems, that works for a day or so then same thing.

Are you really sure? If you have a virus scanner on your Groupwise servers, are the PO directories excluded?

There is no virus scanner running on the GW server.

But there surely is on the clients. See if the problem still happens
when the A/V is turned off.
