Re: webaccess malfunctioning

I had the same issue.

My webacc.cfg file had the loopback 127.0.0.1 for the SOAP.Poll.host

This should have worked as webaccess is on the same host as the POA. But as soon as I changed it to the actual IP, refresh started working.

I dont recall setting this during install. Maybe a default.

Perhaps your POA is set to only answer on its IP, i.e. Bind exclusively.

This is a known issue - whatever you define for your IP/Hostname when first
running the setup is all the service actually listens on for connections that
are authenticating against it (not the Admin Console though). So, if you had
put in a hostname, the only way WebAccess Console can connect is through the
host name. If you use an IP address, it must have that particular IP address,
and not loopback, unless the MTA was not bound to a specific address at the time
that the installation was performed

You can see what the service is listening on for any given server by running

/opt/novell/groupwise/admin/gwadmin-ipc query

If you see 0.0.0.0, then it should listen on just about anything! But if there
is a specific IP address or host name there, that is all you can access from the
WebAdmin Console (or even from the install console if you are trying to upgrade
a secondary domain or remote PO).

Re: webaccess malfunctioning

This solution worked for me. I am running GroupWise 2014 on Windows 2012 R2 virtual server on hyper-v. Thanks mww!

Re: webaccess malfunctioning

Hi,

thanks for the hint from Mathias! 🙂
I had to open UDP 8500 from all POA's to Webaccess Server to make auto refresh working.
I also added the webaccess server IP to SOAP.Poll.host and also added all POA's to Provider.SOAP.XX.ip/port in /var/opt/novell/groupwise/webaccess/webacc.cfg

Unfortunately that is not mentioned any where in the documentation... Or did I miss something?

Thanks,
Pascal

Re: webaccess malfunctioning

Our Services were correctly bound to 0.0.0.0 as Danita recommended. That was not the issue, but changing the SOAP.Poll.host at /var/opt/novell/groupwise/webaccess
from 127.0.0.1 to the actual webaccess local ip 192.xxx.xxx.xxx helped. Restartet Tomcat and now it works. Everyone's happy. Thanks alot !
