Add a JavaScript "Results" Pane for Dynamic Lists & Input Validations

When creating JavaScripts in CSA for Dynamic Lists and/or Input Validation, it can be difficult to determine what part of the script is/isn't working, expecially if the script pulls data from external resources. For example, here is an input validation that queries OO for information:

CSA JS Screen 01.png

The CSA GUI does already have a small blue box (overlays the red box in the picture above) when the script succeeds. But when the script fails (as shown), the results of the failure need to be searched in '/var/vols/itom/hcm/logs/csa/csa.log', which can be cumbersome. More specifically, a CSA author has to change their focus from one process (CSA concepts and CSA GUI) to another (OS navigation and log file parsing). In addition, the log file(s) will most likely contain entries for other users and activities, not related to the failure in question. This, from my experience, increases the "human factor" for errors by keeping CSA authors mentally juggling from one head-space to another, when they'd rather be focused on conceptualizing the nuances of the use case for which they are developing.

I'd like to suggest adding a "Results" pane in the CSA GUI that will show the output of the CSA script. For example:

CSA JS Screen 02.png

Instead of a small red/blue box, the "Results" pane could display any success or failure message(s) crom the csa.log for each run of that script. This would make the flow of thought much more smooth for CSA authors. And in that vein, adding a link (shown in top middle of pic) that will allow for a pop-up to enable updating the 'resource-alias.xml' file would also be very nice to make this part of the CSA GUI a "one stop shop" for developing JavaScripts for Dynamic Lists and Input Validations.
