Accelerating Operations with report access via ChatOps in Operations Bridge suite 2017.08

The Operations Bridge suite 2017.08 release brings new capabilities-as well as numerous updates. Read our blog on not to miss important highlights summarized very nicely. Let us have a look at how this suite brings Enterprise bot for its capabilities.

Everyone does Reporting--and now it can be done more easily

One important capability of any IT operations team capabilities is reporting. The Operations Bridge suite provides a highly distributed, service driven, cross-domain report generation and publishing solution. It facilitates performance and trend analysis, capacity planning, forecasting and reduces the maintenance of reports over time as it uses the service tree of Operations Bridge which are constantly updated.

This capability is built on Big Data storage, and those capabilities hold performance information for many years-much of which is vital for diagnostics, tuning, version planning etc. DevOps teams need access to this information and now they can get it.

In the Operations Bridge suite release 2017.08 we have improved the bot capabilities to allow access to reports via popular ChatOps platforms.  Operations Bridge Suite 2017.8 brings the 2.0 version of Bot which is transformed as “Operations Bridge Bot” extending the coverage to Operations Bridge Reporter along with Operations Manager i capabilities.

What you get with Operations Bridge Bot 2.0

  • Support for Mattermost and Slack
  • Channel-specific events forwarded from OMi
  • Allow only authorized users to invoke actions on OMi and get the instant results
  • Request for reports from Operations Bridge Reporter
  • Escalate events to the ticketing system.

Reports on the fly

Shows report placed as pdf fileShows report placed as pdf fileBot can assist you by providing reports which will help you to analyze or forecast for a particular configuration item. You can ask the OpsBridge Bot to provide the available reports and various options to get the useful report.  The Bot will authorize the user against Operations Bridge Reporter (OBR) before it shares the report in the form of a pdf.

Events as per Context

OMi is configured for event forwarding to OpsBridge Bot with its wide range of filter options pointing to a channel. Bot gets event details along with channel name from OMi, so it does instant posting of it as a well formatted message. Collaboration tool users look at the event posed by Bot as very relevant to the channel. 






Actions that matter

Action trigger and response from BotAction trigger and response from BotWhen an issue is reported, troubleshooting the problem with the available tools is much simpler and easier from the same collaboration tool. It does not matter that the tool is an out-of-the-box tool, custom tool or parameterized, it is just one message away as far as the tool is relevant to the configuration item for which tool is being invoked by Bot. Bot will authorize the user against OMi by collecting OMi login credentials.

Event to ticket, Simplified process

Bot can be asked to escalate an event as a ticket to any configured ticketing system. If any particular event is not pointed with an event id then Bot picks the latest event from its cache and lets OMi covert the same event as ticket to the configured ticketing system.Event to Ticket creationEvent to Ticket creation
