The reality of Hybrid IT is that it’s much more varied than what we hear about in the media, news or research. Hybrid IT really means multiple deployment models,   simultaneously performed effectively and seamlessly.  Just a few years ago, the thought of moving major enterprise workloads to the public cloud wasn’t even on people’s minds. But today, this has become the norm. As a result, customers are facing some challenges, but there are certainly more opportunities.

Enterprises in emerging market regions are rapidly undergoing digital transformation and are increasingly driving demand for enhanced compute power which needs to be highly responsive, scalable, manageable, and agile. Even as private and public clouds gain traction, hybrid cloud represents a growing future for enterprise data centres, given their ability to combine the security of private cloud with the flexibility of public clouds.

In a report released mid last year, Gartner indicated a massive shift toward hybrid infrastructure services given the growth of cloud and industrialized services. Gartner also sees the decline of the traditional data center outsourcing (DCO) model citing optimized costs and increased efficiency as the prime benefits of shifting toward hybrid infrastructure services.

Closer to home, roughly 41 percent of Middle East CIOs said they plan to implement private clouds, with 31 percent planning to invest in public cloud services, according to an IDC report for 2016-2017.

Navigating through the market shifts

This movement toward Hybrid IT and its value will cause two major shifts in the market.

One—Customers have to learn to manage multiple, legacy and modern workloads simultaneously

Two—At the same time, customers have to learn to deal with their challenges

Besides having to face the pressures of complex spaghetti IT back-end deployments, enterprises are continuing to contend with balancing multiple consumption models and budget plans to ensure optimum IT investments. While the demands from the business continue to grow, IT budgets very often run low.

Technology departments need to work through the proliferation of emerging technologies—including IoT. Businesses today demand constant innovation and to achieve that, they need to align themselves with technology players who have both the scale and the depth of portfolio offerings to help successfully navigate the world of Hybrid IT.

Managing Hybrid IT requires world class agility

Given the speed of DevOps and the pace of change of technology, it’s critical to accelerate organizational ability and deliver innovation on a continuous basis. In a hybrid IT world, organizations need to get to the point where they perform core IT functions in both old and new environments with equal ease and success. We understand how to accomplish this task.

As the world’s seventh largest pure-play software vendor, Micro Focus’s hybrid delivery management solutions run at a scale that keeps in context both the existing IT environment and the pace of DevOps. The framework is truly customer focused and based on real world challenges.

And we go that extra mile with our monitoring and management solutions that provide governance, visibility and deep insight across your entire IT Ops landscape from mainframe to mobile

Leveraging automation and orchestration, our container-based core delivery platform and the IT Operations Management  (ITOM) Container Deployment Foundation tools can be delivered, installed, scaled and updated in minutes or hours – a fraction of the time of traditional and SaaS alternatives.

Building momentum with Customer-centric Innovation

We make sure to put our customers at the center of our innovation and build high quality products that they can rely on. Bridging old and new together enables customers to continue to use the platform they’ve already invested in. We work to identify the hottest, most innovative features and functions that matter to our customers.  Then we scale them to achieve enterprise-level by building them into our core products, thereby delivering cutting edge functionality and longevity.

As innovators in the area of Hybrid IT, we provide customers with a choice regarding deployment model. This ability allows for maximum flexibility across the entire IT architecture as well as continuous evolution without massive new investment.

Customer Driven IT Challenges in the New World

The scenario today is a radical shift from several years ago when IT concerns were around the type of devices available that needed support in native environments. Several years ago, you could have a conversation around "Hey, what devices are we going to support in our environment?" We no longer talk about that. Today, it’s BYO Everything (BYOE). Now there are devices and data and video everywhere and you've got to manage all of that complexity.

In that context, the new, combined Micro Focus is uniquely positioned to help customers solve the unique problems they are facing. Micro Focus can help solve issues from main frame, traditional, all the way to public cloud, in a way that helps customer’s bridge the old to the new, and increase the return on the investments they make.

We offer a strong platform and a proven operating model with a core competency of managing a full portfolio of scale software assets, as well as real depth and breadth in our portfolio. This depth helps us solve more of our customer’s toughest problems in Hybrid IT.  Micro Focus is designed from the ground up to build, sell and support software for our customers.
