Two years ago, the Micro Focus ITOM team started on a major transformation journey with the goal to revolutionize enterprise software and help our customers manage complex hybrid IT environments at an unprecedented scale.  To do this we had to find a way to deliver a steady stream of consumable innovation all while avoiding the costs and risks typical of the industry. This meant not only transforming our products, but also our organization and operational model.

This week it was my privilege to announce a major outcome of this transformation, the ITOM Platform. This platform will enable customers to deploy, manage, update and scale our ITOM products across public and private cloud, on traditional virtualized environments and even on bare metal and emerging CaaS environments such as the Suse CaaS Platform.

This, the industry’s first containerized platform for IT Operations Management, presents the incredible breadth and depth of the technology in our ITOM portfolio built up over decades of experience in this market as a set of composable microservices.  It leverages powerful open source technologies such as Kubernetes to simplify the management of these microservices and on containers which enables solutions on the platform to run almost anywhere including in public cloud.  For more information of what we are doing and where we are heading, check out this video (apologies in advance for the quality of the spokesperson ;-).

With the ITOM Platform, enterprises can expect:
-Connected IT Ops insights across domains and support for Intelligent Ops (AIOps) capabilities
-Elimination of duplication and complexity with deploy-once, use everywhere shared Microservices that can be easily upgraded in place
-An open development ecosystem that allows for the extension of ITOM functionality and new applications to be built within a modern development environment
-Built-in domain specific UI’s and support for next-gen collaboration models such as ChatOps
-Common API model for accessing the capabilities and functions enabling infrastructure as code and supporting cross-domain AIOps insights and remediation

In fact we also recently announced the next generation of service management with our new SMA-X, built on the ITOM platform, can be deployed on prem and is now available in the AWS Marketplace! It's codeless, versionless, multi-tenant (not the pseudo multiple instance kind either), has built-in Operations Orchestration and leverages IDOL-based AI and analytics to deliver first of their kind features, all on our highly scalable, fully containerized platform.

This week, my team and I shared details of the ITOM Platform with our Americas customers at the ITOM Summit in Dallas. I encourage you to view the online sessions of this summit. For our audience in EMEA, I encourage you to join my team and me at Micro Focus Universe in Monaco March 13-15th to learn more about the platform.

This is the future of hybrid IT management.  Our ITOM platform-based solutions deliver the choice customers demand — products can be run on prem, in the public cloud, and even managed and delivered as modern SaaS offerings.   They do this on a highly scalable, easily upgradable and extensible architecture that drives down the cost and risk associated with legacy enterprise IT management and traditional SaaS offerings.

It's great seeing the innovation and progress around containers, Micro Focus Container Deployment Foundation (CDF), and SUSE Containers as a Service Platform (CaaSP).

Looking forward to additional "better together" developments.
