The sixth ITOM Summit, and the first one under our new company Micro Focus, is right around the corner. We had so much fun last year in Dallas with the event, we decided to return to Dallas with this event running from February 5-7. If you haven’t registered yet, you are in luck because there are a limited number of seats still available!
The Renaissance Dallas Hotel is once again home to this amazing event after the great feedback we received from the past attendees. Like last year, we will have the entire hotel for the Summit. This means there is plenty of space to meet with your peers, our managers and engineers and many of our 10+ event sponsors. You will also be able to experience the latest products innovations at demo stations and hands-on workshops and you can also attend more than 60 sessions—most presented by customers.
What’s waiting for you in SMA and CMS track
On Tuesday Feb 6th, the Summit will kick off at 8am with the general session led by Tom Goguen, the Senior Vice President and General Manager, Micro Focus ITOM and Rahul Tripathi, the Vice President of ITOM Product Management. The pair will unveil some announcements and introduce the latest innovations across the ITOM portfolio. Following this session, a few customers will present their ITOM journeys which include all of the ITOM products. In this jam-packed Tuesday morning, we will also host Eveline Oerlich, VP and Research Director at Forrester.
After lunch, you will get the chance to attend your favorite track—I know that mine is the Service Management Automation track. Jacques Conand, the director of SMA product management, will present “What’s new in the Service Management Automation Suite”. In this must attend breakout session, you will learn how to take advantage of the expansion of the SMA suite and how its multiple deployment options can benefit your company.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, you can attend several more breakouts led by Micro Focus product managers—these sessions are either related to SMA, CMS or they provide a cross-suite view:
- Overview & migration to Service Management Automation X (will be repeated on Tuesday and Wednesday)
- What's new in Service Manager?
- Serena Solution Business Manager Overview
- ITOM and Containers
- What's new in Universal CMDB and Discovery
- Hybrid IT Orchestration
- Transparent Ops: The start of a beautiful DevOps relationship
- Simple data Visualization for ITOM
- ChatOps: ITOps to the power of collaboration
As in previous Summits, a majority of time is spent with customers presenting for other customers, sharing their experiences, achievements and best practices. Presenting companies include Health Now, DXC, Ensono, IRS and Greenlight.
You will hear firsthand:
- How customers are progressing on their migration from Service Anywhere to SMA-X
- What struggles and decision criteria customers commonly go through while determining to run their ITSM solution in containers on premises, in the cloud or to consume it as a service from service providers
- How services enterprise DXC technologies use UCMDB and Universal Discovery to meet the global needs and ensure a consistent view of the IT infrastructure at any point in time.
When we joined Micro Focus in September 2017, we also joined some great teams with their products such as Solutions Business Management (former Serena). We are pleased to have Wendy Malinowski from the company Ensono walk us through SBM for project management processes.
This time we are introducing the technical workshops on Wednesday afternoon. We will be offering two classes about SMA-X, each in duration 80 minutes. Since the space is limited to 20 attendees per class, the registration is limited. Right now you can be only put on a wait-list if you haven’t grabbed your spot already.
On Tuesday we will have our traditional event, and at the time of this writing, the theme has been kept secret.
During the entire event, you can meet with our executives, product managers and R&D architects for 1:1 meetings to get your questions answered.
The 2018 ITOM Summit 2018 is free for all customers, so hurry up and register today. With CABs and Customer Speaker rehearsals scheduled to begin Monday morning, February 5, we will be hosting a special Super Bowl LII watch party for our guests arriving that Sunday. We will have a dedicated room for our guests to enjoy the game, eats, drinks, and networking!
I look forward to meeting you next week in Dallas!
