Active Devices not allowing agent push

We are having issues with devices that we're discovering using SMTP that show up as Active Devices, however when we try to push an agent we get an error that states, "Scheduling agent deployment... Agent deployment could not be scheduled for device "[Unknown]": error: Device is not in the database."


If we try to update the status to Active it states that the device is already active. We know that the device is real because we can ping the address and the reverse DNS lookup works.


Any advice as to how to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Tough to say... couple be a few things:


Is it happening with all devices or just a few?

I would quadruple check what device group the discovered device is falling into it after it's being discovered.  Look at every config profile associated with it and make sure it's right.  Discovery profile, network profile, agent profile, scanner profile, etc.


If you do a 'find' on the device... like below.  and it says [not configured] like that, it means it's not in the DDMI database yet..   when you do a 'find' on it... does it have the [not configured]?
