[DDMI 9.32] Call Home not triggering a scan

Hello,

we decided to roll out the DDMI agent with SCCM and not have DDMI discover the network but rather have devices calling home to DDMI. So far so good and basically this works, but there is quite a decent amount of devices out there that have old outdated scans (several months) while others get scanned just in time (7 day frequency).
All devices are in the same discovery group as the other devices (actually i set up 1 huge scan range for all workstations), got the same agent/scanner installed and of course have the same basic windows rollout installed.

discovery.log shows that those devices contact DDMI correctly and DDMI seems to do something:

2014-08-31 15:23:09,488 ovedDiscEng:Doozer[4432]: INFO - Callhome response on IP=10.92.109.61 identified node 2603. The node does not own callhome IP address - very likely that the IP address on the device has changed. Forcing network modeling of the callhome address...

But then nothing happened until next day the device contacts DDMI again:
(no other entry in the logfile for neither IP nor node identifier)

No scan initialized, no Error message, nothing.
DDMI Port is of course open, DDMI agent is accepting connections, DDMI is up and running.


Some other form of this issue:

I don't even know what this means 🙂

I'm really confused because literally one device is scanned every 7th day and the device next to it wasn't scanned since february.
Any ideas ?

Hope you are fine,

 

Can you please take a couple of this devices as example and fo into Device Manager of each one on DDMI GUI and try to force a scan, this in order to see if we can manually get an scan file updated or if we miss connection with that ip at all.

I had not even realized DDMI had a "call home" option.  A client of mine has just been struggling with how to deal with some devices which are getting IP's which are not in ranges DDMI is configured to scan.  Can you point me to where this is in the DDMI Documentation?  Thanks... Russ
