Linux Red Hat v6.3 (Santiago)

I'm noticing I'm not able to scan Linux Red Hat v6.3 (Santiago) Operating systems successfully.  I have about a dozen of these and the problem is all the same:

The scanner is actually running... and generating a local$.xsf scan file successfully.  However the DDMI server is never receiving information back from the scanner/agent that it is done.  So it just keeps waiting and waiting, and never picks up the scan file.

Thanks,

Jeff

Re: Linux Red Hat v6.3 (Santiago)

Hello Jeff,

The Error -200 means that DDMI is not able to find a scan file.

As you mention its creating a scan file and a scan log, can you please post the scan log, it may have information about why DDMI is failing to collect the scan file.

Re: Linux Red Hat v6.3 (Santiago)

Scan file looks normal.  It starts, it runs, and it finishes / generates a scan file.  The DDMI server doesn't seem to be communicating very well with the scanner status...

The DDMI server is still waiting for the scan file to be generated... even though it was created about 24 hours ago...

Re: Linux Red Hat v6.3 (Santiago)

Hi,

It might be related with where the %DATADIR% is located. Can you give us an output of aioptionrc?

There might be some issue with the location. Where these Linux systems setup in the same manner as any other Linux system? Might have to open the a ticket to get more data but add in the contents of aioptionrc please. That looks to be written at the same time as the scan file and log based on the earlier screen shot.

This is the aioptionrc from a linux red hat (6.2 OS) that scans and functions normally:

Re: Linux Red Hat v6.3 (Santiago)

I have opened WFM4643398135-JC PENNY-Trouble inventorying Linux Red Hat V6 OS

on this issue... in case any of you are interested.  I have uploaded some trace logs and debug logs.  Lei Shi has the ticket now and going through the data.

Re: Linux Red Hat v6.3 (Santiago)

I have the very same problem on some RHEL 6.2.  What is the status and has the problem been resolved???

Cannot access the service request submitted.

Re: Linux Red Hat v6.3 (Santiago)

Yes, the issue on Jeff's case was that $HOME was not declared, and it is expected to be set when installing the agents and using them in the restart scripts so that the $HOME variable will be used for and with the agents.

So the solution should be to declare HOME in the start up script on all RHEL6 boxes

Re: Linux Red Hat v6.3 (Santiago)

I wonder if HOME could be set in the aioptionrc file to overcome this problem.  It would put it more in my control.  If the aioptionrc variables are set within the agent process shell, it may take priority over the login shell variable.

Re: Linux Red Hat v6.3 (Santiago)

It can't be set on the aioptionrc file, it would need to be set on the OS
