Topology Diagram

Did any body tried to generate a topology diagram from the DDMi database query? If so, it will be great if you can share how you did this and what tool you used to do this.

Re: Topology Diagram

DDMi has a Network Topology Map feature that has to be licensed or enabled, have you seen that?

If you want to create a topology diagram from  just the IP links in your database several tools do that if you can get the query just right I guess. Viso has a topology diagrm tool, so does products like HP NNM or OpNet etc.

Some diagramming tools like smartdraw or creately may not take a query or import file as a diagram source, check with them on import formatting.

Re: Topology Diagram

Thank you.

Yes I have the license for topology map in DDMi. I did not find that map very useful and hard to use. May be I don't know how to use that map properly. Any guidelines available for this?

I have discovery groups and the topology map not produce any diagram according to discovery group. It just dump all the devices in a single page.

I had a look at http://www.graphviz.org/ but did not able to create something meaning ful from there as well.

Re: Topology Diagram

You could use a online tool like Creately Network Diagram Software to draw topologies. I'n not sure about what you meant by queries. However I wish you'd find some tempates to draw them.
