Access Review Footer customization

Hello,

We are working on implementing the Access Review.
One of the requirements is to customize the look and feel as per the
client's themes.

We have been able to modify the header using the CSS but for the footer
where it says "copyright NetiQ corporation", we want to modify that to
some other text.
Please let us know where we can make these changes so that it reflects
on the pages. Does it come from a properties file? Or is it a text/HTML
file that can be modified?

Also, in case we need to insert JavaScript for a few operations or to
modify a few elements, where should we be inserting these so that they
are called properly.

Regards
Rohit

Greetings Rohit,
There is not a footer in the "main" view of the Access Review UI.
I gather you are actually talking about the "About" page.

If I am correct, then you will need to follow the steps for String
Customization. The copywrite is in the client-strings.jar and you will
need to update all of the properties files for the languages you want to
update. Then you will put it back into the jar, stop tomcat, clear out
the temp and work directories, put the jar in the tomcat/lib directory
and restart.

I have tested here and the above is working correctly for me

Greetings Rohit,
I will reply back with more complete step-by-steps as compared to
the ones written above.

Re: Access Review Footer customization

Hello Steve,

This exercise is to get the Access Review to have customized themes as
per the other applications(IDM included).
Is there a way to do this using html/javascript etc ? In that case we
just need to know where it will go?

Regards,
Rohit

Greetings Rohit,
I do not fully understand your response. The question that started
this post was about how to modify the String in a particular area in
Access Review. In general there are two (2) different ways that is
accomplished.

#1 Perform an Export/Import from the Setting page within AR. This will
create a properties file with majority of the labels in the UI. You can
modify this file and then import it. The changes will be seen
immediately. No restart needed.

#2 For all other strings that are not in the above properties file, you
then will have to perform String Customization as I had outlined. This
can include changing strings that are seen in the UI as well as in the logs.

If you question now is about how to change the theme, that is control
via a custom css.

All of the above steps are the "same" in IDM 4.5. What you can do with
the different "wars" does vary

A) User Application war => You have to create a custom theme as outlined
in the docs to change the look if what you need is more then what is
available from the Theme Customization Admin page. It only supports
String Customization.

B) Reporting => You will utilize custom css file to change the look. It
only supports String Customization.

C) HPD (Home and Provisioning Dashboard) => You will utilize a custom
css file to change the look. It has the ability to Export/Import labels
that are seen in the UI (similar to #1 above). For all other strings
then you have to utilize String Customization.
