Access Review IDM Wokflow for fulfilment

Hi

In the Access Review documentation and also when going to AR settings it
shows that there has to be an "external workflow" in IDM for fulfillment
during the review process.

I need clarification on what is meant by an 'external workflow' and
where do we specify the 'appId' and 'changesetId' as inputs (as
mentioned in the documentation).

I have the basic set up working - like deployed the AR driver, the
permissions reflected as resources in the User Application, AR users
getting created in a separate 'arusers' container in the IDM tree.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Rohit

people who find it 2 years from now.

Google does index this.

I would like to know how to use the external workflow also.

I've already created the workflow with both fields changesetId and
appId, now what? I receive two numbers from Access Review.

Thanks in advance.

Steven,

So nowadays there is nothing I can do with those numbers? We really
needed that interaction between AR and WFs.

Thank you.

Greetings,
That is not what I said. Currently, one would have to write your
own custom workflow to handle all of this.

Greetings,

===========
From the Doc (currently section 19.3.2 for the AR 1.5 User Guide)
"
Using Workflows to Fulfill the Changeset

If you integrate Access Review with Identity Manager, you can use a
custom workflow to remove the permissions. You create the workflow in
the identity applications. In Identity Manager, you specify global
configuration values (GCVs) to store the connection parameters between
the workflow and Access Review. The workflow also must have inputs
specified in the following fields:

String: changesetId
String: appId

Access Review sends the changesetId and appID to the workflow to process
the fulfillment tasks for the reviews changeset. The workflow parses the
information in the changeset and completes the tasks. When the workflow
finishes, Identity Manager informs Access Review, which then changes the
status of the changes to complete.
"

What does it "mean"?

-When we process the change items for a review, all the items are
processed on an application basis - thus the appId - and then each
application would have a particular set of things to do, thus the
changeset. Then the Workflow (in User Application) will want to call
back to Access Review via a REST activity and will use code similar to:
"/api/provisioning/changeset/" +
flowdata.get('Start/request_form/changesetId') + "?appSourceId=" +
flowdata.get('Start/request_form/appId') +
"&inProgressOnly=true&size=-1&provisioningType=EXTERNAL"
===========

As I stated earlier, we currently working on an aspect that will make
this easier for you.

Re: Access Review IDM Wokflow for fulfilment

Steven,

OK, I understand that. What I'm saying is that there is no documentation
on how to use the numbers on the WF. The AR documentation just says what
you wrote.

I'll take you said about the REST activity but is there any
documentation on the AR Web Service?.

Thank you.

Hi Peers,

I am currently working on Fulfillment process by IDM Workflow.
Kindly let us know, how to configure an external workflow with "appId" & "changesetId" to proceed with automated provisioning/deprovisioning.
Any sample example or a use case based on this would be very helpful.
we need this. Kindly help.

Thanks,
