2-way picklist display issue

Hi,

Is there any way I can get a 2-way picklist to cover 2 fields ?
I have created a form where we have everything in 2 columns to conserve
space and would like the 2-way picklist to cover both columns, right now
it just looks ugly.
Either the picklist gets to small or we get a big space between the
columns.

Thanks

Re: 2-way picklist display issue

Hi Joakim,

you can use jQuery to rearrange form items and massage the GUI - set
"colspan" in your case:

* load jquery in your form script
/IDMProv/javascript/jQuery/scripts/jquery-1.4.2.min.js
(ignore the error)

* in your picklist onload event call

/** set new column span attribute to given field
*/
function jqSetColspan( fn, cols )
{
$('#_'+fn).parent().attr('colSpan',cols);
$('#'+fn+"_packedValues").parent().attr('colSpan',cols);
}

jqSetColspan( field.getName(), 6 );

Re: 2-way picklist display issue

Thanks,

I cant find the jquery script in that folder though. It does however
exist in the war file at that location, do I have to extract it?
I tried both inline and external.

Running IDM 4.0.1.

Re: 2-way picklist display issue

Actually you don't need the http prefix, because you're specifying a
relative path - it will work, even if Designer throws an error message.

The 6 is the colspan parameter (see the html docs for table cells) -
what value you need depends on the number of columns on your form, but 6
usually is sufficient.

Re: 2-way picklist display issue

Then it must have been one other correction that made it work, I had
misspelled one expression.

Thank you for the code, it was exactly what I wanted and works perfect.
