I do NOT use SSL as Remote Loader is installed ON Domain Controller

I have no idea what that error relates to as there is NO user mentioned
in the log
Also did not notice any problems with user password sync...

Re: ADDriver: [PWD] PassSyncPassword() returned 0x80090015

Google found TID# 7004549. Checked on it?

Alos, just to be pedantic, you should always use SSL between the engine
and RL, though you should not (in your case because you're on the DC) use
SSL between the RL and the DC. The former is controlled in the engine
config and the RL config. The latter is controlled only in the engine
config under the driver properties somewhere.

Good luck.

Strange, I also had 0, so I changed it, but now I get

Thread = Loader
Level = error
Message = Error initializing command connection: Socket error:
Permission denied

Plus the same error 0x80090015

That's a little odd. If your command port (usually port 8000 by default)
is not showing as already listening or something you'll probably need to
reboot the box. There is a weird bug in windows where sometimes the port
gets stuck and, last time I checked, no amount of killing the process that
used the port actually released the thing. The OS should clean up ports
of processes that have stopped but this issue still comes up from time to
time. Maybe before doing that be SURE the RL is really stopped. Use
Process Explorer (procexp.exe) or something to look for it running in case
it is running as a user that does not show up properly in Task Manager.

Good luck.

Re: ADDriver: [PWD] PassSyncPassword() returned 0x80090015

In the driver log I get:

Message 40:
Wed Aug 14 18:16:39 BST 2013
Error
No description provided.
Code(-9046) Invalid password specified for <check-password>.

Message 41:
Wed Aug 14 18:16:48 BST 2013
Error
No description provided.
Code(-9046) Invalid password specified for <check-password>.

Which means even less...

Only KB artickle I found is:

http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7001066

but I do not have any certificate data to delete!

Per this link:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd542646%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

It seems that error is:

NTE_BAD_PUBLIC_KEY
0x80090015
Provider's public key is invalid.

Which seems to imply something... (Seems like an SSL or at least public
key/private key issue).

Re: ADDriver: [PWD] PassSyncPassword() returned 0x80090015

But I do NOT use SSL (even I should between the engine and RL)

So it can not be the case...

Re: ADDriver: [PWD] PassSyncPassword() returned 0x80090015

No, it can be the case, but address the TID-covered issue I pointed out
earlier.

As he passwords are moved from DCs to the RL machine (even if on the same
machine) they are encrypted with a private key. If something is amiss in
your MAD environment regarding those keys then this error may still show.
Have you removed a DC lately? There are other reasons things could go
amiss, that is one of them.

Good luck.

Re: ADDriver: [PWD] PassSyncPassword() returned 0x80090015

Had to reconfigure the control panel applet again adding the other
domain server to it

Rebooted all (just in case) and now it works all again

Thanks guys

Seb
