Configure the DNLookup control to return <x> results?

Hello all,

UA 4.0.1 Patch C

Well, the title says it all 🙂 Is there a way to configure the search
box, which is the result of clicking on the DNLoopup search, to show a
configurable number of results when the User performs a search? This is
the first time I have been asked by a client for this functionality, but
I'd be interested in knowing. There's probably a JSP somewhere, but
let's not crack open the WAR 🙂

Cheers,

-K

Keith,

It appears that in the past few days you have not received a response to your
posting. That concerns us, and has triggered this automated reply.

Has your issue been resolved? If not, you might try one of the following options:

- Visit http://www.netiq.com/support and search the knowledgebase and/or check all
the other support options available.
- You could also try posting your message again. Make sure it is posted in the
correct newsgroup. (http://forums.netiq.com)

Be sure to read the forum FAQ about what to expect in the way of responses:

If this is a reply to a duplicate posting, please ignore and accept our apologies
and rest assured we will issue a stern reprimand to our posting bot.

Good luck!

Greetings,
I do believe the only way to accomplish this would be to set the
limit on the Entity itself that you are mapped to. For example, on the
User Entity itself in the DAL, go to the Search section and change the
"Max Search Entries" from 0 to the number you want (like 20) and
deploy. The "issue" will be if the user enters a search string that
would return more then what you have set, they will see a message
similar to the following in RED on the forum:

Error encountered while executing the service
com.novell.srvprv.impl.servlet.service.ParamListLookup: Error performing
query: number of results found exceeds the search size limit. Narrow the
scope of the search or increase the search size limit..

This most likely is not what you are looking for. I would suggest that
you log an Enhancement Request in RMS (not Bugzilla).
