Designer 402AU3 bug: triple linkage fornew S-ET policies

Seems reproducible: add a new dirxml-script policy to an S-ET policyset, add to
an existing add-on driver package, check package properties of the new policy,
linkage tab: I always get three items here instead of the usual one. Anyone
else?

All done from Fishbone -> click S-ET policy set -> Policy Set view-> "+"
button. Did not run into this when adding new IT/OT policies (have not yet
tried other policy sets...)

Yep I get three linkages, all at weight of 500.

And when I apply the package to a new driver, I get the policy linked in
3 times. Bug!

And I reported it. Will let you know when there is a bug for it.

Noticed it does not do it in Sub-MP or Sub-CP but does in Sub-ET. Too
lazy to test any further, but really should test if any other policy
sets do this.

A quick test shows it is only Sub-ETP, which is REALLY strange.

can anyone else confirm?

I saw your email this morning, and double checked, and the person who
enters bugs for me was off and it was in her queue. Sorry. Thanks for
getting it entered.

It really is a weird bug! Why that one policy set out of all of them, only?

And I see it is assigned to Murthy, I shall go tease him about it then. 🙂

Noticed something that might be related: all policies in the S-ET policyset get
flagged dirty (i.e. "Sync to package" appears in the context menu) when
switching from AU2a to AU3 and opening the same project. When you sync to
package and then switch back, same in the other AU version. When comparing the
package customization, I get all equal, though. Did not check on a file level,
just what Designer offers in the GUI.

I wish I had someone to help with that task, too! Collected notes for about
20-30 bugs since Brainshare, but no time to properly reproduce and enter the
bugs...

That's why there's the forum. We could collectively vet them here if you
want to share your notes.

Good luck.

My Amanuensis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanuensis) does not
necessarily duplicate it, she mostly validates that it makes sense and
enters it into Bugzilla, to avoid offending folk who might get offended.

I learned that word in first year chemistry at York U. The prof has a
sort of Laurel/Hardy routine with the guy who helped out on lab demos,
and called him, his amanuensis.

I mean it fondly, upon re-reading the WIkipedia, it may have more
negative connotations than I intended. In which case, I wish to clarify
I meant it in the Chemistry lab example, not any of the other possible
meanings. 🙂

So are you Laurel or Hardy in your curetn setup? They are called "Fat & Stupid"
("Dick und Doof") in the German dubbed versions, btw... 🙂

My point is, they are an amusing group, which most people remember
fondly in some fashion.

I likely am the fat one. 🙂

FYI: A fix for this issue is now available. This fix must be requested
directly and will not be posted as a FTF.

Customers who are impacted and want this fix will need to open a SR and
refer to the defect number (834778). The cost of the SR will be
refunded prior to it's closure.
