Error in UserApp

Hi all,

I´m looking for some help..
We have the User Application running on WebLogic and connected to an OracleDB. (All running on RHEL 6.2)
The IDM version is 4.0.2.7 AE and the RBPM has patch E installed.

Just checking the logs from WebLogic and we are getting this errors:

Enable logging in the class:
com.novell.soa.af.impl

At DEBUG level in the UA web iterface, admin top tab, logging side tab.

Reprodue and see if you get any more info.

Re: Error in UserApp

Hello Marcos. From the information you provided I can only infer that the error comes from an expired session.

The portal is probably trying to retrieve the information for the assigned tasks and since the session expired, or at least that's what the log tells us, UA can't retrieve the information it requires.

Lets try some basic troubleshooting. When did the issue start? Was any patch installed? Was the issue present before? Was any configuration altered?

Re: Error in UserApp

Hi Marco,

I think there is intermittent loss of database connections between User App and Oracle. To remove the lost connections, tomcat provides a set of configurations to control the jdbc pool in server.xml file. Particularly you would need to introduce "removeAbandoned" and "removeAbandonedTimeout" parameters to the jdbc configuration.
https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc/jdbc-pool.html

For example:
<Resource auth="Container" driverClassName="com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver" factory="com.netiq.iac.jdbc.pool.IacCustomDataSourceFactory" initialSize="10" maxActive="50" maxIdle="10" maxWait="30000" minIdle="10" name="shared/IDMUADataSource" password="bm92ZWxsIzEyMw==" testOnBorrow="true" type="javax.sql.DataSource" url="jdbc:sqlserver://*****:1433;DatabaseName=idmuserappdb" username="idmadmin" validationInterval="30000" validationQuery="SELECT 1" logAbandoned="true" removeAbandoned="true" removeAbandonedTimeout="120"/>

Be sure to have the "removeAbandonedTimeout" interval value greater than the longest query you would have running in your environment.

-Thanks,
Dhaval

Re: Error in UserApp

Hi everyone and thanks for the advices.

The problem started after a change of time on my place. We restarted the whole servers and the issue has disappeared.

Thanks for your help!
