Error on trying to start a Oracle JDBC driver

Hi All,

I would like your help on trying to solve a problem related to
Analyzer 4.0.2 build 20120509.

The error message is: NLS missing message: MSG_FORMAT_COL in
com.novell.nds.dirxml.shimhost.ShimHost
Error starting driver Oracle JDBC

I´m trying to connect local using a JDBC driver for Oracle 10g.
When I test the connection it successfully made it.

Perhaps the problem is related to the driver not being able to
convert a Oracle column datatype into a correct correlated java
datatype

Parameters configures in Analyzer:

JDBC Driver Version: 11.2.0.3.0
Oracle JDBC jar file: ojdbc6.jar
Third-party JDBC driver class name: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver

In IDS Trace I can see the following problem:

<source>
<product build="20070918_0743" instance="Oracle"
version="3.5.2">DirXML Driver for JDBC</product>
<contact>Novell, Inc.</contact>
</source>
<output>
_*_<status_level=\"fatal\"_type=\"driver-general\">
______<description>Initialization_document_missing_required_value_for_parameter_'sync-tables'.</description>*_
<jdbc:document xml:space="preserve"><nds dtdversion="3.5"
ndsversion="8.x">

Please help!

Thanks.

Re: Error on trying to start a Oracle JDBC driver

Hi,

I tried the connection on Oracle 10g, I had no issues starting the
driver.
The only difference I could see in your details is that you have used
ojdbc6.jar. I used classes12.jar file which is present under
(Ex:
/u01/app/<dbname>/apps/tech_st/<db_version>/jdbc/lib/classes12.jar)
Try this out and let us know if it works.

Regards,
Kirthana

Hi Kirthana,

Unfortunatelly I´m getting the same error. Please see it on: [image:
http://postimage.org/image/p5lvww997/]

Error Message: NLS missing message: MSG_FORMAT_COL in
com.novell.nds.dirxml.shimhost.ShimHost

I´ve removed the .jar file ojdbc6.jar and used classes12.jar file but no
success in connecting.

I´m using this JDBC driver class name: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver is that
correct ?

In what environment conditions did you set up achieving a success on
doing this test ?

Thanks for your help. Much appreciate it.

Erick

I tested on Linux. Your class name seems to be different, the driver
class name is oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver. Try this.
