Get Value from MVEditor

Can someone tell me how to get values out of an MVEditor control? I've
been trying everything I can think of and I cannot do it.

If I do this:

flowdata.getObject('start/request_form/mycontrol').size();

I do get a size value back. But none of these variation yield a
value:

flowdata.getObject('start/request_form/mycontrol')[0];
flowdata.getObject('start/request_form/mycontrol')['0'];
flowdata.getObject('start/request_form/mycontrol[1]');
flowdata.getObject('start/request_form/mycontrol').get(0);

I've probably tried just about every variation I can think of.

No Matter what, I for a value I get back

[[mycontrol: null]

What am I missing here to get the values from the MVEditor?

Thanks.

Matt

Re: Get Value from MVEditor

Matt,

with getObject() you're retrieving nodes, not strings - try something like

var x = flowdata.getObject('start/request_form/mycontrol' );
for ( var i=0; i < x.size(); i++)
{
var y = x.get(i).getFirstChild().getNodeValue();
}
