Google driver to handle new APIs?

Hola folks,

What are the plans from Concensus for the Google Apps IDM driver on
handling the new Admin SDK Directory API?

I got a nasty-gram from Google about them discontinuing their
provisioning API access on 4/20/15.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Google driver to handle new APIs?

A replacement will be shown at BrainShare. NetIQ is planning to have it
out before the API is discontinued, it sounds like, and hopefully with
time for testing too.

For more-detailed information, and to get in on a beta, perhaps contact
your account/sales representative.

In case I missed any details from the session that may be useful:

I got that email too, as did a bunch of other people. They're working on
it, and you can expect to see something announced around the BrainShare
timeframe. No details yet. Hopefully the upgrade will be relatively
seamless and easy.

It's being worked on. Last I heard it was being tested at some beta
sites. I need it too, so hoping to see a release Real Soon Now.

Anything yet? This is getting a little too close for comfort.

Got an update today from the product manager...

--------------------

We were supposed to have the GoogleApps driver updated released by now.
However, we ran into issues from the API that Google provides and are
working with them to get the issues resolved. Here's the latest status
I have from engineering:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
A new build has been posted to our beta area today.

There are a few remaining defects to be fixed in our code. They won't
take long. Our primary issue right now is with 4 defects which are in
the Google API.

- Directory API UserOrganization object does not return it's type
field.
- GSON API throws exception an empty field in JSON from UserOrganization
object
- GSON API throws exception on value with a space from UserOrganization
object
- GSON API throws exception on phone numbers of format (xxx) xxx-xxxx
and xxx/xxx-xxxx on UserPhone object

We are investigating replacing the GSON API with Jackson API for
UserPhone and UserOrganization. All of those issues have been
communicated to Google.

It's supposed to be released through the normal NetIQ channels in the
next couple of weeks.

Re: Google driver to handle new APIs?

It's been a month and I still haven't received notification that the new
driver is ready. We spoke our rep two weeks ago and he gave us the same
it's in beta story and should be ready by the end of the week. I'm
getting a little nervous as we are getting close to the deadline and not
leaving much time for testing on our end. What's the new anticipated
release date?

Thanks,

jB

Re: Google driver to handle new APIs?

It's in the release process. If you subscribe to the IDM patch e-mails
you'll probably get one shortly. If not, go to dl.netiq.com once in a
while and you should see it there.

Your rep can probably give you an "official" answer more than I can.

I'm waiting and watching with you. I'm told that the upgrade is pretty
painless, so hopefully it won't take much testing and we can just roll it
out and be done with it.
