How to disable getExpirationDate at Role webservice call?

I am trying to call IRomoteUser.getRole(RoleAssignment), but it keep on
throw get expiration date exception, because we do not set expiration
date for the user role.
Does anyone know how to disable the expiration date check?
Here is the code
IRemoteRole roleStub = connMgr.getRoleStub(appID, appPassword);
User theUser = roleStub.getUser(userDN);
RoleAssignmentArray roleAssignments = theUser.getRoleAssignments();
RoleAssignment[] roles = roleAssignments.getRoleassignment();

if(roles != null && roles.length > 0) {

roleNames = new ArrayList<Role>();

for (RoleAssignment assignment: roles){

final Role role = roleStub.getRole(assignment.getRole());

if(role.getRoleLevel().getLevel() == roleLevel){
roleNames.add(role);
}
}
}
Error happened at final Role role =
roleStub.getRole(assignment.getRole());
Here are the error message.

Greetings,
I do not see this issue with the soap enpoint utilizing soapUI. Can
you please confirm the same in your environment?

Re: How to disable getExpirationDate at Role webservice call?

Steven,

Finally, Soap-UI works on my PC. Here is the result when I run the soap
request on SOAP UI:
Request:

<soapenv:Envelope

</ser:getRoleRequest>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>

Response:

Greetings,
I have run the same test here and it works correctly. So, the
issue is either the User you a connecting with does not have enough
rights / is not a trustee of the Role, or how you created the Role(s)
originally.

How did you originally create your roles? Did you use the Designer,
User Application UI, or the create Role endpoint?

Are you connecting with the Global Admin of the User Application (the
one that has all 10 Admin Roles Assigned)?

I created the role "DelegatedAdmin" at the Level 20 (IT Role) in the
User App UI and then used soapUI to get it:

xml for the request:

<soapenv:Envelope
xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
xmlns:ser="http://www.novell.com/role/service">
<soapenv:Header/>
<soapenv:Body>
<ser:getRoleRequest>
<!--Optional:-->

<ser:roleDN>cn=DelegatedAdmin,cn=Level20,cn=RoleDefs,cn=RoleConfig,cn=AppConfig,cn=User
Application Driver,cn=driverset1,o=system</ser:roleDN>
</ser:getRoleRequest>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>

xml for the response:

SOAP-ENV:Envelope
xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<SOAP-ENV:Body>
<ns1:getRoleResponse xmlns="http://www.novell.com/role/service"
xmlns:ns1="http://www.novell.com/role/service">
<result>
<approvers/>
<associatedRoles/>
<childRoles/>
<description>Delegated Admin</description>
<entitlementRef/>

<entityKey>cn=DelegatedAdmin,cn=Level20,cn=RoleDefs,cn=RoleConfig,cn=AppConfig,cn=User
Application Driver,cn=driverset1,o=system</entityKey>
<implicitContainers/>
<implicitGroups/>
<name>DelegatedAdmin</name>
<owners/>
<parentRoles/>
<quorum xsi:nil="1"/>
<requestDef xsi:nil="1"/>
<roleAssignments/>
<roleCategoryKeys>
<categorykey>
<categoryKey>system</categoryKey>
</categorykey>
</roleCategoryKeys>
<roleLevel>

<container>cn=Level20,cn=RoleDefs,cn=RoleConfig,cn=AppConfig,cn=User
Application Driver,cn=driverset1,o=system</container>
<description>IT Role</description>
<level>20</level>
<name>IT Role</name>
</roleLevel>
<systemRole>false</systemRole>
</result>
</ns1:getRoleResponse>
</SOAP-ENV:Body>
</SOAP-ENV:Envelope>

I then added a "grand child" role (level 10) in the UI and then ran
executed in soapUI and that worked as well.

So, there is something more about your set-up that you have not outlined.

Re: How to disable getExpirationDate at Role webservice call?

Steven,

Thanks a lot for the reply. Here are what we found out in our side:
The problem is related to inherited role. The DelegatedAdmin is an
inherited role. And itself has some sub roles as well.

If you could send me a email, I will email the role info to you.

Thanks,

Joshua
