IDM 4.8 drivers do not start on RHEL 8.2

Jump to solution

Hi,

After installation of edir 9.2.2 + idm 4.8.1 engine on RHEL 8.2, no driver start.

I tried to run "ndstrace -c modules" to check if dirxml modules load, but I get this error:

ndstrace: error while loading shared libraries: libncurses.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I checked the library is properly define with the softlink :

lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 28 Aug 27 15:17 libncurses.so.5 -> /usr/lib64/libncurses.so.6.1

Any idea ?

Thx

Sylvain

I did a new full install and now it works.
Here are some steps I did:
- download and install libcompatstdc 32 & 64 bits
- Install the ncurses-compat libraries
- Added the soft link in lib64
- Did dirxml schema extension manually with /opt/novell/eDirectory/bin/idm-install-schema
- Applied 4.8.1 patch is also required, dirxml cannot start wihout it.
Hope this help.

I think the link was missing in the lib64 dir itself.

I did that :

cd /usr/lib64

ln -s libncurses.so.6.1 libncurses.so.5

Now ndstrace no longer return an error.

Now I will finish the re-install and see if it works.
