IDM driver trace not starting or stopping

For some reason, on all our drivers (edir, ad, jdbc, looback), driver
tracing will not start nor stop unless we restart the driver. It has
become quite annoying to restart the driver anytime we need to analyze a
driver trace. And again to restart the trace to get it to turn off. It
is like the driver won't read the misc tab unless the driver starting.
Anybody seen this before?

Re: IDM driver trace not starting or stopping

Well that's odd... I've never seen that in a system that I recall... does
an eDir restart help at all?

Good luck.

Re: IDM driver trace not starting or stopping

Restarting eDir will get the trace started or stopped too. The problem
is, anytime we want to enable or disable the trace, we have to restart
the driver (or eDir) to get the change to take effect.

Re: IDM driver trace not starting or stopping

Is this on a windows box? Are you using RDP or anything like that? If linux, does it make a difference if you are root?

Haven't seen this, no. What eDir (version, patches, platform) and IDM
(version, patches, etc.)? Are you making the change in iManager or
Designer?

Re: IDM driver trace not starting or stopping

We are patched almost current:

IDM: 4.02 + patch1a x64
edir: 8.8.7.1 x64
OS: rhel 5.9 x64

The drivers are a mix of 3.5, 3.6 and 4. It doesn't matter if what type
of driver either.
Happens on all of them: AD, edir2edir, looback, jdbc.

Hmm. That's weird. I have essentially the same here, except with SLES
instead of RedHat, and it works fine for me.

How have you configured your drivers to have rights to eDirectory? I
wonder if the engine / driver can't see the eDir attributes on the driver
object changing.
