Hi All,
We have 3 servers with Novell eDirectory 9.2/IDM4.8.1 engine in Linux On-Premise environment. Also we have built 3 eDir/IDM server in Cloud under a subscription and added to on-premise replica. The data sync and driver migration is working fine.
But for some reason, we have been asked to move the 3 cloud servers to another subscription and we have been informed that there will be change in the IP addresses. It is like they will shutdown the servers in the current subscription, take a backup, move to new subscription and start the servers.
Query is: is this supported by eDir/IDM for the lift/shift migration with ip address change?
if the IP changed, what are the impacts of connection to on-premise replica?
what are the configuration changes to be done for the IP address change?
Is there any documentation for this kind of migration from Microfocus?
Thanks in advance

Regarding eDir, check this TID:
https://support.microfocus.com/kb/doc.php?id=3201067
Also keep in mind following very important note in this TID:
DISCLAIMERS - Do not change the IP address of more than one server at a time while following this procedure! If more than one IP address is changed at a time, or all servers are moved to a new subnet at once, the servers will not be able to reestablish communications with each other without first being moved back to the original IP addresses.
Although it is possible to move multiple servers at a time and fix edir replication, it is much easier to do it one at a time.

Are the three cloud servers talking over IP to the on prem servers? If so, you can edit the nds.conf file and change the IPs on the cloud ones. I would suggest bringing them up on at a time to make sure each one can see the On prem servers before bringing up the next one.
