Multiple Approval WF Task Notification
Hi Guys,
I have created a work flow with two approvals(sequential).
1st level Supervisor and 2nd level Building owner.
It is working fine in the normal case when a junior submits a request it is going to Supervisor first and then to the building owner.
But in the scenario if the supervisor is submitting the request the request will be automatically forwarded to 2nd level approver(as per the conditions).
it is going to 2nd level as expected but, in the task notification of the 1st level approver(in this case he is initiator) this request is being shown. When we click on the request below is the message
"An error occurred retrieving the task details:An error occurred processing the request.(You are not authorized for task with id =[4545...78568]!")
But the functionality wise everything is working fine.
Is this an expected behavior?
Thanks,
Agnel

On the properties tab on the approval activity, who is listed as the "addressee"? Is it "initiator" (which is the default), that would mean that you are sending the task to the person initiating the workflow, so only that object can open the task. That field needs to be the DN of your building owner.

I think you may consider this as expected behaviour.
I believe the workflow definition allows initiator to see the tasks (Restrict View in PRD Overview not checked) and at the same time the task has Exclude Requestor set to true. That's most simple case but there might be more mismatch in permissions if initiator has some extended abilities, for example having Provisioning Administrator role granted.
If initiator should not be able to reassign tasks in workflow (reason is obvious, right?) I would recommend disabling the option to see all started process tasks in task list. Current stage can be tracked from requests history page.
