Powershell is not able to take danish characters

Hi,

When we tried to create directory using powershell with help of
scripting driver. Powershell is converting the danish characters like
below.

Input:Dortrolighedserklæringer2
output:Dortrolighedserklµringer2

it is replacing the danish characters like above in development and it
is removing the danish characters in production.

Can some one help us in making powershell script to use the exact
characters that is passed from the scripting driver.

Thanks
Siva ram T

What Scripting Driver version ? Have you patched to a recent revision?

I experienced similar some years back and worked around the issue.
I believe this is because Powershell assumes the input and output defaults to be the computer's local code page (as determined by regional settings).

I believe this can be confirmed by looking at: the output from

[System.Text.Encoding]::Default

Thought that this was corrected in a later IDMLib.ps1 - don't recall any issues with Norwegian characters on the more recent Scripting Driver implementations I've worked on.

This is an extremely old version.
There should be a newer version that supports your IDM (unless you are running maybe IDm 3.5 or older and if so you absolutely should upgrade).

I am pretty sure that this worked with 3.6.1.12 (that is the version we have running at some customers)
What IDM version do you have installed?

You should be able to update higher than that (as long as you have
purchased valid maintenance on the relevant IDM products)

Go to http://dl.netiq.com and login to access patches

I believe the latest 4.5 scripting driver patch is supported against IDM
4.0.2 so I'd go with that.
