If we try to see another catalog likes Resource catalog, we can without
problems.

We have a lot of roles (20000+) but before migration (we migrated from
userapp 3.7 to 4.0.2) we could see the roles without problems.

Tank you in advance!

Sorry for my bad english, i´m from Argentina.

Regards!

Greetings,
The Role Administrator will see this kind of problem if they did not
delete all of the cache and cookies from their browser before trying to
access the new set-up.

Hi,

I cleared the chache and cookies but the problem persists, any other
possibilities? The above error is in the jboss server.log file.

Thank you very much and I hope you enjoyed a Merry Christmas!

I'm having the same problem. UA 4.0.2 Patch D.

Greetings,
This is happening because we are provided empty/null when trying to
get the attribute from a key provided.

If this worked correctly in 370 and does not in 402 with the latest
Public Patch (D), then:

1) Something was not fully updated when you upgraded & migrated the UAD

2) Security Permissions

3) Schema is not 100% correct in the eDirectory replica that the User
Application is pointing to.

I would recommend opening a Service Request at this point.

Thanks for your reply. It turns out that the UA driver was not correctly
migrated. For example: i had the same problem when *opening* resources.
Listing them went fine, opening them caused the same error. Adding some
missing attributes via an LDAP browser and redeploying the UA driver
kinda completed the migration (after that i had package references on
the driver object etc. etc.).

But.. can you point me in the direction of what attributes might be
missing now ? I did do a schema compare and driver compare (LDAP
attributes) with another working environment (also migrated from 3.7)
and i can't find any differences now.

Of course i can just delete the UA driver and redeploy a 4.0.2 version
given the fact that it is a non-critical environment but this, of
course, will cause all assigned roles and resources to be revoked.

Greetings,
I can not at this time as we are looping through at that point and
the output does not indicate the specific one.

Re: Problems to retrieve roles catalog

Managed to get some extra logging from the UA setting the vdata.util to

This is the result of the query that was done before the Roles query. It
retrieves all atributes of the user (the query that i posted before from
the IDAM trace) and then ends with this code block.

I have (of course) compared the attributes on roles between environments
and every attribute that is present in the working environment, is also
present in the not-working environment. However, the trace in my
not-working environment does not even display the above query. So it
seems to fail on the creation of the LDAP query in the userapp.

Sorry for bothering you this long, but i'd really like to resolve this
today or tomorrow as i will be unavailable for this customer for a long
time after that.

Re: Problems to retrieve roles catalog

I have fixed the issue. From the logging above you can see that it
errors after requesting the sys-nrf-role objects. These objects are in
the DAL.
cn=sys-nrf-role,cn=EntityDefs,cn=DirectoryModel,cn=AppConfig,cn=UserApplication,cn=IDVAULT,ou=Identity
Management,o=System

Given the fact that it tries to resolve String, Locale i suspected that
one of the locales would not be present or something. I therefore made a
backup of the XmlData attribute of the object. Copied the descriptions
from a working environment... and the role display is working again.

So, for some reasons this attribute was not updated with (new?)
languages or somehow got corrupted. It's working now !

Greetings,
There is an open bug in Bugzilla against the Designer on this kind
of issue. I am unable to find it right now, but this has been seen by a
couple of people when they upgraded. You were upgrading from 3.7.0 to
4.0.2. I believe the other cases were 4.0.1 to 4.0.2.
